What perfume are you going to wear today? This is a question that comes in the mind whenever we are getting ready to go to work so that we can be fresh all day long. There is a wide range of perfumes that are available and you can choose the ones, which you like the most.

In ancient times, people used to burn oils to produce fragrance in their homes. This was being done in China and Egypt, and this was then followed by the entire world.

Right now, France is considered as the center of the perfume manufacturers where they introduce a lot of different perfumes and that are being widely accepted and used world wide.

Perfumes and scents are a major part of the fashion industry. People can get their own perfumes made according to their personality and they can name those perfumes after their names, which is really exciting.

Just to understand as to how perfumes are made; perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils and aroma compounds, fixatives and solvents that are used to give pleasant fragrance.

The fragrances can be identified on the basis of the families under which they are made. These families include Floral, Chypre, Fougere, Leather, Woody, Orientals or Ambers and the last one is citrus.

The floral fragrances are made from flowers. The Chypre, this family is characterized by a scent reminiscent of apricot and custard. Fougere, they are built on a base of lavender, coumarin, and oakmoss. Leather, this family represents the scents of honey, tobacco, wood and wood tars. The Woody family represents the scents derived from woody scents, which is typically sandalwood. Orientals and Ambers is derived from the scents of vanilla and animal scents together with flowers and wood. Citrus, this is an old fragrance family and the scents are made from the citrus elements.

Perfumes and scents are a world of their own and is a billion dollar industry, which is growing day in and day out.
