Amineptine
Common generic name: Amineptine
Commonly used brand names: Survector, Maneon, Directin
Why and for what should I take Amineptine?
Though most of the people in the world have the ability to fight off depression by their own devices, some cannot and that is what the most common use of this drug is.  Amineptine belongs to antidepressant drug class. The Amineptine is the amineptina an antidepressant structurally of the group of tricíclicos antidepressants but with a distinct action and effect. The main action of the amineptina is the inhibition of the recaptação of the dopamina. Its effect antidepressant well is not understood a time that the medications that act on the dopamina are in its majority antipsychotics. Amineptine is used to treat the severe depressive episodes.
What are the directions for taking Amineptine?
Those who take Amineptine should be aware of the possibility of a stomach discomfort when first taking it.  Although there is no specific reason or treatment for this occurrence there are some steps that you can take.  First and foremost, you should always take Amineptine with food.  This will help to prepare the lining of the stomach to accept the drug with out irritation.  You can also take this drug with a glass of milk.  In most cases, the stomach irritation was cured with these methods.  Discuss with your doctor if the problem persists.
As with all medications it is important for you to follow the orders of the doctor who has prescribed the medication to you.  Only a doctor is qualified to determine the proper dosage and increasing or decreasing without first consulting your doctor could result in harmful side effects.

How Amineptine works-
The amineptina has an effect of light stimulation, being similar in experiments with rats to the effect of the amphetamine; therefore in them it presents crossed dependence.   Therefore you should be aware that there is the possibility that you could become dependent upon this drug.  Discuss all the ramifications of your taking this drug with your doctor before taking it to ensure that you understand all the risks that are involved.
Will Amineptine interact with other drugs?
Some drugs should not be taken with Amineptine. Association with the alcohol and all the depressors of the central nervous system (morphinic, barbiturate, nerve sedatives, anxiolytic, antihistamines, and antihypertenseurs central...) raise the risks of somnolence. You should always be sure to tell your doctor about all the medications that you are taking and what the dosage is.  Failure to do so could result in a potentially deadly interaction that may not be reversible.
Precautions to take when taking Amineptine:

  • If you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to any of the chemical components in Amineptine then you should not take this drug.
  • Amineptine is not recommended for or tested for children of less than 15 years.
  • Tell your doctor before taking Amineptine if you are pregnant or you plan to become pregnant.
  • Consult your doctor if you have ever suffered from seizures or fainting spells.  This is a sign of a potentially fatal drug interaction problem.
  • Talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications.
  • If you are breast feeding or planning to breast feed then you should first consult your doctor to discuss the possible risks that are involved with taking Amineptine.

What do I do if I overdose on Amineptine?
If you think you or someone else has overdosed on Amineptine then you should seek medical attention immediately. Contact your doctor or local poison control center.  If possible, proceed to the nearest emergency room or hospital.  Be sure to take the bottle of pills with you so that the treating doctor can properly diagnose and treat you or the other person.
What if Missed Dose of Amineptine?
If you miss a dose of Amineptine medicine and you remember within an hour or so, take the dose immediately. If you do not remember until later, skip the dose you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
