Atomoxetine
Commonly used generic name: atomoxetine
Commonly used brand name: Strattera
Why and for what should I take Atomoxetine?
Attention Deficit Disorder is very common in the world and has only recently received widespread attention in the medical community as a treatable disorder.  Atomoxetine is the first ADHD medication to avoid classification as a controlled substance (a drug with potential for abuse). It is thought to work by boosting levels of norepinephrine, one of the brain chemicals responsible for regulating activity. Atomoxetine is prescribed for children and adults.
How Should I take Atomoxetine (Strattera)?
Those who take Atomoxetine should be aware of the possibility of a stomach discomfort when first taking it.  Although there is no specific reason or treatment for this occurrence there are some steps that you can take.  First and foremost, you should always take Atomoxetine with food.  This will help to prepare the lining of the stomach to accept the drug with out irritation.  You can also take this drug with a glass of milk.  In most cases, the stomach irritation was cured with these methods.  Discuss with your doctor if the problem persists.
As with all medications it is important for you to follow the orders of the doctor who has prescribed the medication to you.  Only a doctor is qualified to determine the proper dosage and increasing or decreasing without first consulting your doctor could result in harmful side effects.

Atomoxetine (Strattera) interaction with alcohol and drugs
Atomoxetine (Strattera) does not appear to alter the effects of alcohol.  But you should never take this or any other drug while consuming alcohol or any illegal drugs because there is always the possibility of deadly or serious complications.  Every person reacts to a drug in different ways and there is no way of knowing how you may interact with the chemical components.
