Dutonin:

Generic Name: me
The generic name of the dutonin is nefazodone hydrochloride. It is generally available in the range of 50 mg. to 300 mg. This drug should be taken only if prescribed by a physician.

Precautions:

  • If you are on MAO (monoamine oxidase), you should not take dutonin.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness, so heavy physical work and driving should be avoided after taking the medicines.
  • If you are pregnant, plan to pregnant or are breast-feeding, avoid the intake of dutonin and inform your physician.
  • People suffering even with mild hypertension, should be given dutonin carefully.
  • Prescribing and intake of dutonin should start from a minimum dose, in order to minimize overdose.
  • If you are allergic to dutonin or any other medicine of methaphetamine group, tell your doctor before starting the treatment.
  • Sometimes the combination of medicines, if taken together may interact. So, if you are taking any other medicine, inform your doctor.
  • Alcoholic beverages may increase the side effect of this medicine and therefore should be avoided.

 

Warning:

  • This medicine should be taken only if prescribed by the doctor. .
  • Mothers, dependent on desoxyn should refrain from breast-feeding to the children.
  • The effects of this may be seen only after a few weeks; meanwhile the dosage of the drugs should not be increased.

 

Overdose:

  • The symptoms for overdose of this medicine may vary person-to-person and may include dizziness, tiredness, irregular heartbeats, irregular blood pressure, fatigue, diarrhea and agitation.
  • In case any of the symptoms or any other symptoms are observed, contact your doctor immediately.

 

 

 

How to take:

  • Dutonin should be taken only if prescribed by a doctor.
  • Take the appropriate dose as prescribed by the doctor. May be taken with or without food.
  • Do not take the medicine in the late evening, which may affect your sleep.
  • If you have skipped or missed any dose of dutonin, don’t take double dose at next time. Follow the regular schedule.

 

Side Effects:

  • The common side effects of dutonin are weakness or tiredness, drowsiness, anxiety, insomnia, dry mouth, constipation, diarrhea, change in weight and skin rashes particularly in sunlight.
  • If any of these side effects are observed, see your doctor immediately.

 

How to store:

  • The drugs should be stored in a cool and safe place and out of reach of children.
  • Outdated medicines should not be used.
